We are delighted with the success of our Ninth Annual Workoutathon which has raised over £3,400. Over 80 people took part in the event in The Great Room, Preston North End Football Club on 5th March 2023. Grateful thanks to our sponsors, Frank Whittle Partnership and Care Preference.
Participants’ stamina was tested with three hours of back-to-back energetic workout classes run by some of Lancashire’s top fitness instructors. Challenging but fun sessions included Combat and Attack Mash Up, HIIT, Zumba, Rockbox, Legs, Bums and Tums.
Among the participants were sisters, Sam and Jamie Mitchell, who took on the challenge and personally raised £770. Sam’s daughter, Sadie, attends conductive education at Rainbow Hub and Sam said, “I honestly don’t know how we made so much money – I can’t believe it and I am delighted. I promoted the event on my Facebook page and added one of Rainbow Hub’s videos that Sadie was in so I think that was really helpful in getting sponsors. I’ve loved doing it and really enjoyed the 3 hours. It was tough but a great atmosphere and thank you so much for organising the event.”
Sam added, ” Rainbow Hub has had a huge impact on our family and Sadie in particular. We can’t believe how much progress she is making which is why we decided to take part in theevent.”
Kat Nelson, Head of Fundraising at Rainbow Hub, said, “Well done to everyone who took part and a massive thank you to our amazing instructors Gill Swift, Rachel Holland, Kurt McDonnell,Joanne Berends Sheriff, Rachel Burrows and Gill Walmsley. Special thanks as well to UltraSec Security for attending to provide first aid if needed and to Gareth Edwards Photography for capturing the day. The event was a great success and we couldn’t do it without you all.”
