Family Support

We are
family

Caring for a disabled child has a profound effect on the whole family. Although many are facing adversity, Rainbow Hub remains a positive place full of laughter and hope offering family support, where families champion each other’s achievements.

As part of our family support we have a dedicated Parent Support Worker who can offer our families both emotional and practical support which could be anything from lending an ear or filling out benefit forms, to finding help with Education and Health Care Plans or going along to medical appointments and school meetings.

Our family support program also means that when available, families have access to our Active Movement and Sensory Rooms during holidays (not term time).

We also hold around six family days throughout the year as part of our family support program, which can range from exciting trips to the zoo and Winter Wonderlands, to fun family get-togethers at Rainbow Hub itself.

  • general questions
  • Does my child have to have a diagnosis for us to be able to access Rainbow Hub?

The short answer is no. We understand that not every child has a diagnosis and we aim to support as many families as possible. If your child has a neurological condition or a physical disability or is suspected of having a condition or disability you are more than welcome at Rainbow Hub.

  • Can we access your Family Support even if my child doesn’t attend any of your therapy sessions?

Of course you can. We aim to support as many families as possible. If your child has a neurological condition or physical disability and you would like to be a part of Rainbow Hub where you can meet other families like yours then please contact our Parent Support Worker or come along to one of our ‘Chill & Chat’ Sessions on the first Saturday of every month.

  • Can we use your Active Movement Room and Sensory Room as a family?

Our facilities are amazing and we don’t like to see our rooms empty. We do have periods in the week when the Active Movement Room and the Sensory Room are not being used for therapy. If you would like to spend some quality time with your child in either of those rooms please contact us.
