of Physio

Our well-equipped ‘rehab hub’ in Mawdesley provides a high quality physiotherapy service. It’s an evidence based, holistic approach to neurological rehabilitation, enabling and empowering an increase in activity, participation and self-management.

Sessions are aimed at maintaining independence or increasing stamina, flexibility, muscle strength and overall health. A dedicated physiotherapist works in partnership with our Conductive Education services to provide a range of treatments.

We cover the following conditions: • Cerebral palsy • Acquired brain injury • Pre and post-operative patients • Mobility issues • Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE)

If physiotherapy is right, you’ll be offered regular sessions with small achievable goals to help your child reach their full potential and review their progress. Sessions can be delivered on an individual basis or as a small group, where children and young people can encourage each other and meet friends with a similar ability.

Delivered over 12 weeks, sessions are fun, playful and engaging, designed to help you stretch, maintain movement, manage pain and grow in strength.

  • general questions
  • Do you offer pre/post-operative rehabilitation?

Our specialist physiotherapist can offer a programme of exercises for children and young people who are preparing for operations and those who have had operations and need extensive rehabilitation. If you are interested please contact our physiotherapist.

  • Can my child still have physio at Rainbow Hub if they are receiving NHS physio?

Whilst we aim to help as many children and young people as possible we do prioritise those who can benefit from physiotherapy who are not currently receiving treatment from an NHS provider or within a school setting.

  • How long is a physio session?

Our physiotherapy sessions are for 1 hour but that can vary depending on the individual. After your initial assessment, if physiotherapy is suitable and a session time is available you will be offered a regular weekly session for a period of 12 weeks.
