Magical moments of fun and festivities were on display at Rainbow Hub’s Annual Ball on Saturday 15th November when the generosity of companies and guests raised over £76,000 for the Lancashire based charity which supports children and young people with neurological and physical disabilities.
The event, hosted by comedian Colin Manford, was supported by main sponsors Fletchers Solicitors and TMT Construction, together with many others including Sunsynk, Viewsonic, Unity Wines Harford Consulting, Fleur Design, Dancefloor Occasions and all those who sponsored tables and donated prizes.
Over 200 glamorous guests enjoyed a drink on arrival at Park Hall Hotel and Spa, Charnock Richard and later, a delicious three course meal. They took part in a silent auction sponsored by Premfina where they tried to outbid other guests for hundreds of fantastic prizes from afternoon tea and beauty vouchers to signed football shirts, beautiful art, theatre tickets, hampers and festive gift boxes.
Dazzling prizes in the Live Auction included a beautiful painting by Rainbow Hub service user Nicole Walker, Calista Art which raised £3,700 and guests could also take part in a raffle, heads & tails game sponsored by Hybrid HR and a dutch auction.
During the reception there was music by Saxmode and baffling close up magic. After dinner live music from the fantastic Wicker Men had everyone dancing the night away.
One of the evening’s magical moments was a thank you from 17 year old Phoebe from Lostock Hall, daughter of Rainbow Hub CEO. Phoebe started attending Rainbow Hub when she was 2 years old until she was 12 and she wanted to thank Rainbow Hub and its staff for everything they did over those important years. She also thanked all the guests saying “I love following Rainbow Hub social media and every time I see the children I see a little piece of me in those videos. It feels good to know that more children and their families can go through those doors and get the same help that I did. But none of that would be possible without you all coming here tonight. It really means the world that people like you are helping children and young people like me”.
Lyndsay Fahey, Chief Executive, Rainbow Hub said, “We were absolutely thrilled with the success of the evening – there were so many magical moments and I was especially proud of Phoebe. So many fantastic people helped make this happen and we can’t name them all but they know who they are and how much we appreciate their support. I must, however, say a special thank you to Park Hall Hotel and Spa for all their support, Colin Manford for hosting the event, our main supporters, Fletchers Solicitors and TMT Construction, photographer Clive Lawrence and our fantastic fundraising team and staff at Rainbow Hub.”
She continued, “And to everyone who joined us for the evening, bid in the auctions and are helping us to continue to offer our much-needed services – thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It is a fantastic achievement and even more amazing when we know that many people are struggling financially.
All of this and the support we give to the children and families, is only possible because of the generosity of so many companies and people. The money raised tonight will help fund more than 15 children for a year. You are all wonderful.”
