Brave Michelle Moffatt (50) from The Common, Adlington took on an amazing Wing Walk challenge
and raised over £1,500 for Rainbow Hub, the Mawdesley charity supporting disabled children
with physical and neurological issues.
Flying at speeds of up to 120 mph, she reached heights up to 700 feet and loved the
experience. She was so keen that she had made the 2 ½ hour journey to Wickenby
Aerodrome, Lincoln to take to the skies.
Michelle said, “I loved the experience and was really lucky with the weather, it was forecast to be raining
but when I went up the sun was shining, and believe it or not it was actually warm up there.
It was an amazing experience and the reason I did it for Rainbow Hub is because it is an incredible charity.
I booked the Wing Walk back in January and I put a post on Twitter about which local charity to support.
A parent of one of the children who attends Rainbow Hub responded and suggested I check out the
charity. It was a no brainer. They are amazing and it’s an honour to help raise some funds.”
Lyndsay Fahey, CEO, Rainbow Hub, said “We are extremely grateful to Michelle and very much in awe of her bravery.
It was an epic challenge and we thank everyone who helped her raise such a fantastic amount.
We are looking forward to her visit in September when she will meet some of the children she is helping support.”
